Reflections on General Synod

Reflections on General Synod

General Synod, June 2025 in London, Ont.

These are reflections and thoughts as a first-time delegate to General Synod. I’ve been in attendance before, as an exhibitor, so I had some general assumptions and expectations as I drove to London, Ont. Yes, I drove.

Somewhere around Thursday/Friday, I hit the wall. Too much sitting. Too many reports. Too many carefully worded motions and slow-moving microphones.

St. Michael's Youth Conference - Maritimes

St. Michael's Youth Conference - Maritimes

August 18 - 23

St. Michael’s is an annual conference in the Anglican tradition for youth aged 13–19. Together we pray, study, and play. Since 1987, St Michael’s has formed a vibrant community within the Anglican Church in the Maritimes. Our conference participants—or Michaelites!—don’t do things by half measures. When we worship, we worship God reverently in spirit and truth. When we study, we challenge ourselves to learn deeply. When we kick back for games and activities, we make sure that we have a blast.

Discernment Retreat

Friday, October 31, 2025

Are you wondering how God might be inviting you to serve? Join us for a shared weekend of prayer, conversation, and community as we explore the many paths of our Christian vocation.

Over the course of the weekend, we’ll hear from our bishops, clergy, and lay leaders about the diverse ways people live out their callings — in lay ministry, religious orders, the diaconate, and priesthood. You’ll hear real stories of discernment, have time to reflect, ask the big questions and pray together.

The cost is $50/person. Preregistration is required, and spaces are limited. Hosted at Villa Madonna Retreat House, meals and accommodation included.
