The Bishop of Fredericton seeks to appoint a full-time incumbent to two Anglican parishes in shared ministry, Bathurst and Restigouche, in the Diocese of Fredericton.
The two parishes are located on the north shore of the Province of New Brunswick along the beautiful Chaleur Bay and Restigouche River; one located in and around the City of Bathurst and communities west; and the other starting about 80 kms west and encompassing the Town of Heron Bay, the City of Campbellton and communities further west.
There are three active church buildings: St. George’s in Bathurst, Christ Church in Campbellton and St. Andrew’s in Robinsonville. A large rectory exists in Bathurst. Worship uses a mix of the BCP and BAS. There are several layreaders and other lay pastoral leadership within each parish. The Parish of Bathust employs an administrative assistant.
The mission of this shared ministry is to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ, to teach, to learn and grow in a personal relationship with God. Though they are experiencing decline, these churches see themselves as prayerful people of God, committed to be loving, welcoming and inviting by faithfully serving God.
Please include the following in an expression of interest.
Clergy from outside the diocese should confirm that they have their bishop’s permission to explore a possible appointment outside of their own diocese. A confidential reference may also be requested from your diocesan bishop and in addition to other references.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a valid criminal record and vulnerable sector check and may be required to authorize a credit check.
