Cheryl Jacobs

Cheryl joined the bishop's staff in 2014 in order to support Bishop David as Secretary/executive assistant. She transitioned to the role of Synod Executive Officer in 2025.

Cheryl earned Bachelor and Master degrees in Computer Science and previously worked as a senior instructor and then as a business analyst at the University of New Brunswick.  She worships at Christ Church Cathedral where she is also involved in the Godly Play ministry, worship music team and Daily Offices team. She is also an active volunteer with Scouts Canada, the Fredericton Music Festival and at the Fredericton Community Kitchen, and is on the board of United Christian Ashrams International.

Cheryl is married to Peter and they have three grown children and one grandson. Having lived most of her life in the Fredericton area, she and Peter now live on the Wolastoq in Lower Queensbury.

• Executive and administrative support to the Bishop
• Bishop's Office publicity, updates for clergy, and data management
• Layreader program support

Synod Executive Assistant:

• Administration of the Diocesan Synod and the synod office
• Secretary of Synod and recording secretary of Diocesan Council
• Policy and process improvement
