The Parish of Salisbury and Havelock welcomed the Rev. Tyler McKenna, its newly ordained incumbent deacon, at an induction service held Sunday, October 25, at St. Andrew’s Church in Petitcodiac.

For St. Andrew’s, a small congregation sharing parish life with St. John’s in Salisbury, the occasion was particularly special.

“It was especially wonderful to have a full church again, and to see some old friends and make new ones,” said Melanie Wade, St. Andrew’s warden and ACW president.

Following the service, parishioners gathered for a casserole potluck, with everyone in the parish contributing something to the table.

“Around here, if you leave hungry it’s usually your own fault because there is always an abundance of food,” Melanie said.

The celebration did more than fill bellies that day. It also marked a hopeful new chapter for the parish as it welcomes the Rev. Tyler McKenna.
