The Five Marks of Mission are an important statement on mission. They express the Anglican Communion’s common commitment to, and understanding of, God’s holistic and integral mission. The mission of the Church is the mission of Christ.

- To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom;
- To teach, baptize, and nurture [new] believers;
- To respond to human need by loving service;
- To seek to transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and to pursue peace and reconciliation;
- To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.

#2: Betty invited a young friend, newly confirmed, to share in doing the workbook from "See Through the Scriptures" and she agreed."
#3: "A community without volunteers wouldn't be much of a community." That's the opinion of Doug, a volunteer on a church team at a local Community Kitchen. “I think people have to go further than just sitting in the pews,” he said as he chopped broccoli for a salad. Working nearby, Wayne agreed. “It's good to give back to the community,” he said. “Too often, the church is about money and politics, not about helping people.” Rebecca, a newer volunteer, added “I see it as another form of mission,” thinking of the third Mark of Mission which is to respond to human need by loving service.
#5: Annie loves her coffee. but when she decided she should recycle her K-cups, she "found that would not be easy as there is no place in New Brunswick that could use the type of plastic used in the cups". Annie went online and read some of the reviews on K-cups and the environment. She decided that the best solution for her was to sell her coffee maker. She says, "I want to be an example to encourage people to think about the waste they are making" She now composts her coffee grounds and filters. Annie is living the marks of Mission two fold as she donated the money from the sale of her coffee maker.
